The Company Secretary hold a privileged position as the Directors rely on the Secretary for guidance on all matters relating to its compliance with the requirements of the Companies Commission of Malaysia. While that is basic, the Directors are also entitled to look to the Secretary for guidance on matters concerning shareholders and their rights, the conduct of Annual General Meetings, the maintenance of the Company's Register of Shares and such matters.

To achieve the best results for a corporation, its Secretary would be called on to make research, liaise with professionals such as Solicitors and Accountants and generally to assist the Board of Directors.
